A contradiction in form to aid a question of function.
This piece was designed to answer the problem of mounting a television in a prewar apartment with plaster walls.
The horizontal planes within which the TV floats are made with wood flooring repurposed to look as if it lifted from the floor below, allowing one to see the layers usually hidden below. The exposed vertical plumbing pipes, typically hidden from sight, are used here for supporting external solids as opposed to internal liquids/gasses.
